Sundog Mela Sunglasses review
At Kintec, we are making great efforts to be part of the Running Clinic community. To compliment this initiative, we are constantly bringing in products for runners’ needs, so as to continue to be a resource for you.
Two of the latest companies to have their products make an appearance at our shops are Timex and Sundog Eyewear. For this blog post, I’ll be covering Sundogs.
Sundog has a phenomenal product line. The price points for most sunglasses that we carry at Kintec is very reasonable at only $70+.
I recently tested a pair of their running Mela Lens glasses this summer at the White River 50 Miler down near Mt. Rainier. Sundog promised me that they would not fog up at all, and this was my big test.
Fogging of lenses has been a major challenge with some glasses in the past. As with most runners, as the day progresses, my breathing would naturally get heavier. That combined with perspiration on my forehead would cause most glasses to inevitably fog up. But the Sundog Mela glasses did their job. They didn’t fog up just as I was promised!
I have to admit that this didn’t surprise me that much, as they were highly recommended by my Montrail teammate Ellie Greenwood, who has been using them for all of 2011.
The Sundog Melas come in larger and smaller frames and a few different styles. It’s suitable for a wide variety of people, whether you’re a national caliber athlete or just going out for a hike looking to protect your eyes from those evil rays the sun beams out.
